How We Can Help You

We do take in new cats and dogs. Our procedures vary, depending on if you have an owned pet or a stray.

Owned
If you have a pet that you own but can't keep anymore, we can help you place your pet into a good home. We require that your pet is heartworm tested (dogs older than 6 months) or feline leukemia tested (cats older than 6 months), is current on all of their vaccinations, and spayed or neurtered (if of age). We will need to see the vet papers showing this. After you have talked to us and we have let you know that there is an opening, you will need to bring your pet to the Logansport Mall through the back door between 10:00 and 10:45 am on Saturdays. At that time you will need to leave a deposit. If the animal is not adopted that day, you will need to pick the pet up between 4:30 and 5:30. Then you will bring the pet the next week and every week to be shown until the pet is adopted. There is a fee for this service. Call and leave a voicemail message at 574-753-5575.

Stray
If you have a stray you are trying to help and need our help, thank you for your kindness and willingness to help us help them. Often our waiting list for strays is much longer than owned. Call and leave a message on our voicemail and we will put you on our waiting list. If you want to foster the stray by taking the animal to the vet for shots and spay/neuter, and bringing the animal to the center weekly, we can help the animal faster, as most of the waiting time is waiting for a foster home to become available. Otherwise we will call you as soon as a foster home becomes available. There is no fee for strays, but we do appreciate donations.

In order for us to help you, please call our voicemail at 574-753-5575. Leave as much detail as possible about the situation and the pet. If you are willing to help the stray by bringing him to the mall on Saturdays let us know that. Tell us if you know if the animal is spayed/neutered or has had any shots. What type of dog? What color is the cat? About how old? How big? Where found?
